Coloniality of Knowledge in Brazil: Race, Gender and Class in Science

Professor Vívian Matias dos Santos,  Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE - Brazil), will present the African Gender Institute seminar with a talk entitled, "Coloniality of Knowledge in Brazil: Race, Gender and Class in Science". 
Vivian will speak about science as politics of knowledge in relation to epistemicide inherent in the modern/colonial rationality that is inherently racialized, patriarchal and capitalist. The Centre for Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies at UCT has evolved out of a merger between the School of Dance and Department of Drama in 2018.
